Developmental Delay Toolkit
Did you know that the Arkansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics has a developmental delays toolkit to help parents navigate the early intervention system in Arkansas? If your child needs therapy or other services, there are some programs available at little or no cost to you, and this new website will tell you about four ways you may be able to get support, how much each costs, and how you can get started. The programs and services explained are as follows:
Early Childhood Special Education: This program helps children 3 to 5 years old who have special needs. It provides support services, and education for these children and their families. For more info, click here.
First Connections: This program helps children birth to 3 years old who have special needs. It provides support services for the children and their families. For more info, click here.
Early Intervention Day Treatment: This program is for children birth to 21 years old who have developmental disabilities, delays, or other health problems. It provides screening, evaluation, developmental therapies such as speech and occupational therapy, and more to help them. For more info, click here.
Therapy From Private Providers: Developmental services (such as occupational or speech therapy) from a licensed provider or therapist. For more info, contact the clinic at 501-664-4044 or make an appointment with your child’s doctor.
